THE FIRST BREAST TEST TOWARDS A PARADIGM SHIFT IN BREAST CANCER PREVENTION.
- MammoWave is a revolutionary safe solution for the detection of breast lesions. Using safe low-power microwave radiofrequency signals to perform imaging, its innovative technology is non-ionizing (free from X-rays), meaning there is no radiation risk.
- MammoWave uses safe low-power (1 mW) radiofrequency signal in the microwave band (1-9 GHz), rather than dangerous X-rays. It provides breast images, highlighting eventual lesions with high sensitivity and specificity. Performances hold for dense breasts.
-MammoWave does not require any breast compression. A breast scan is completed whilst the person is in a horizontal face down position.
-MammoWave does not replace screening programs, but is intended as a preparatory
and complementary test, capable of expanding access to prevention
-MammoWave® is a market-creating innovation, addressing the unmet need of providing a first breast test in young women currently excluded from traditional mammography screening (due to the risks and limitations associated with traditional mammography). In general, women <50 are not eligible for traditional screening; nevertheless, this age range accounts for~30% of breast cancers.
