RPS-1 (Robotic Pre-analytical System) is the modular automation system designed to streamline sample management not just inside the central laboratory, but across the entire diagnostic network. It brings industrial efficiency to sorting and logistics, bridging the gap between distributed collection points and the analytical core. Unlike traditional sorters confined to the lab floor, RPS-1 is engineered to operate also at intermediate collection hubs (if any). In these transit points, it identifies and pre-sorts samples based on their final destination (e.g., routing specific tubes to the Central Laboratory and others to a Biobank). This capability adds a critical layer of traceability to the logistics phase, ensuring correct routing and preventing lost samples during transport. To minimize manual handling, RPS-1 features a versatile Packaging Module that adapts to its location: • At collection points: It automatically prepares and loads samples into transport racks or containers, securing them for courier pickup without human intervention. • At Lab Entry: It acts as an automatic unboxing unit, mechanically extracting samples from transport containers and feeding them directly into the sorting line. This eliminates the bottleneck of manual bag/box opening and drastically reduces biohazard exposure. Integrated with ROBOSAN’s vision technology, the system performs "on-the-fly" quality checks (Cap Color, Fill Volume, Centrifugation status) and validates barcode identity against the LIS, ensuring that only compliant samples proceed to the next step.
