The Vivalytic MRSA/SA Test is a real-time PCR assay that detects and differentiates between methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA), and methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative Staphylococci (MRCoNS). Using a nasal or oropharyngeal swab sample in liquid amies, this test provides results in just 53 minutes, enabling rapid diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic treatment. By identifying key gene targets (SCCmec/orfX junction, mecA/mecC, SA422), the test helps in the prevention of complications and effective infection control.
