Information

11:00 - 11:40 | Clinical Impact of Molecular Diagnostics in Modern Healthcare

This session focuses on the clinical impact of molecular diagnostics in modern healthcare, highlighting how molecular testing supports accurate diagnosis, guides therapeutic decisions, and improves patient outcomes. Emphasis is placed on the medical relevance of test selection, result interpretation, and quality-driven laboratory practices, as well as the integration of molecular data into clinical decision-making. Through practical examples, the session addresses common diagnostic pitfalls, patient safety considerations, and the importance of effective collaboration between clinicians and laboratory professionals.

Learning objectives

  • Explain the clinical role and medical value of molecular diagnostics in patient care
  • Identify pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical factors influencing diagnostic accuracy
  • Interpret molecular diagnostic results within the appropriate clinical context
  • Recognize common sources of diagnostic error and their impact on patient safety
  • Understand the application of molecular diagnostics in infectious diseases, oncology, and precision medicine
  • Strengthen laboratory–clinician communication to support evidence-based, patient-centered care

11:40 - 12:20 | Finance for Non-Finance Professionals

This training program is designed to equip participants with a practical and conceptual understanding of core financial principles essential for effective decision-making. The session introduces finance fundamentals in a simplified and engaging manner, enabling non-finance professionals to confidently interpret financial information and understand its impact on organizational performance.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the purpose and structure of the main financial statements
  • Interpret key components of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Analyze basic financial information to assess performance, liquidity, and financial health
  • Apply budgeting principles and distinguish between different budgeting methodologies
  • Improve cash management awareness to support better operational and strategic decisions

12:20 - 13:00 | Laboratory Consolidation Operational Optimization

The Laboratory Consolidation Operational Optimization to equip participants with a practical and conceptual understanding of the key operational principles required to successfully consolidate multiple laboratory units into an integrated, high performing service. The consolidation strategies in a simplified and engaging manner, enabling participants to analyze the operational, logistical, and quality implications of merging laboratory services under a unified framework.

Covers essential dimensions of laboratory consolidation, including workflow harmonization, test menu alignment, centralization of high volume testing, and redistribution of specialized services.

Participants explore how the integration of staffing structures, equipment platforms, LIS connectivity, and sample transportation logistics contribute to a streamlined and scalable operational model. Emphasis is placed on reducing duplication, optimizing capacity, standardizing processes, and enhancing cost effectiveness without compromising diagnostic quality or turnaround time. Introduction of data driven approach to consolidation, focusing on KPIs such as consolidated TAT metrics, instrument utilization across merged sites, sample transfer efficiency, resource consumption trends, and error reduction outcomes.

Learning objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles, benefits, and challenges of laboratory consolidation.
  • Evaluate existing laboratory operations to identify overlaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for integration.
  • Apply harmonization strategies to standardize workflows, SOPs, equipment platforms, and test menus.
  • Interpret consolidation related KPIs to monitor performance, guide decision making, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Implement lean and continuous improvement tools to ensure a smooth transition and sustained post consolidation performance.
  • Enhance quality consistency, turnaround time reliability, and operational sustainability across the consolidated laboratory network.
