PDO Barbed Sutures
General Surgery
Information
KATSAN PDO Barbed Sutures feature microscopic etching that enables self-anchoring without the need for knots, simplifying wound closure. Made of a synthetic monofilament material, they hydrolyze within approximately 180 days while maintaining effective tissue tension for about one month. Their use is associated with reduced blood loss during surgery and decreased surgical difficulty, allowing procedures to be completed more easily and efficiently. Owing to their monofilament structure, KATSAN PDO Barbed sutures also minimize local inflammation and lower the risk of infection, all while preserving closure strength and achieving favorable scar cosmesis.
