The MedARC (Medical Autonomous Robotic Carrier) was specifically
developed for applications in hospitals. A MedARC picks up
transport units at a location and transports them to a specified destination.
It is intelligent and has its own power on board. Traveling on
a rail system with vertical and horizontal assistants, MedARC's are
capable of connecting all relevant locations - both in existing buildings
and new buildings. A MedARC always knows where it is and
identifies the shortest route to its destination. The totes or trays with
the required material are managed by the system and stored in the
system until they are requested.
