Information
The early detection of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers such as esophageal, gastric, and pancreatic malignancies is crucial due to the potential for misdiagnoses during standard endoscopic evaluations. These types of cancer are frequently identified at advanced stages, leading to poor patient outcomes and limited treatment options.
EEMC is a real-time intra-endoscopic electrical diagnostic probe designed to differentiate high-risk excision-requiring lesions using modified endoscopic biopsy forceps as a non-invasive method. During the standard endoscopy process, the decision to take a sample for pathology diagnosis is often based on the skill and experience of the endoscopist. In some cases, this decision results in additional costs for the patient, and in other cases, the failure to take a sample can lead to cancer not being diagnosed in the early stages.
