KiOmed Pharma emerged in March 2014 from a multi-year collaboration between its parent company, KitoZyme, and the University of Liège. They specialize in the innovative extraction of chitin and chitosan from mushrooms. Led by founders François Blondel, KiOmed’s Executive Chairman, and Dr Houtaï Choumane, our CEO, the company aims to transform healthcare with breakthrough technologies and products.
KiOmed Pharma’s vision is to improve the quality of life of patients worldwide with our unique, patented vegan chitosan technology. Our goal is to revolutionize treatment standards for serious, high-impact degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, skin ageing, and eye diseases, where we have seen significant improvements in patient outcomes with our technology. In this way, we are tackling head-on important societal challenges.
