The Zimmer Biomet Trabecular Metal® Acetabular Revision System (TMARS) is a specialized revision Hip reconstruction offering built toaddress the challenges of acetabular bone loss and complex revision total hip arthroplasty. It leverages Trabecular Metal Technology, a highly porous material designed to mimic the structure of cancellous bone and support biologic fixation through robust bone in-growth, which can improve long-term implant stability. TMARS includes modular components such as Trabecular Metal revision shells with cemented liners, cup-cage constructs, and a range of augments, buttresses, shims, and restrictors that enable surgeons to tailor reconstruction strategies to the severity and type of acetabular defect—from simple revisions to extensive bone deficiencies. The system’s flexibility helps conserve host bone, reduce stress shielding, and address a broad spectrum of Paprosky defect classifications, while the integrated design aims to reduce concerns like micromotion and backside wear, enhancing both initial mechanical stability and long-term outcomes in complex hip revision cases.
